COMMERCIAL IT & DIGITAL DIRECTOR, SINGAPORE

The successful candidate will play a critical role in driving digital innovation, commercial IT strategy, and technology-enabled business transformation, fully embedded within the Commercial function to enable growth, operational efficiency, and improved patient outcomes.

Accountabilities:
This role will manage a small local team but will be adept at working with and influencing business teams, above-market IT teams, partners, vendors, and stakeholders key to delivery and support of the key focus areas and business-as-usual systems.
You will be responsible for supporting the Singapore Commercial organization’s vision through innovative IT and digital solutions. You will directly partner with the commercial leadership team and manage a small team to deliver high-impact, HCP and patient-centric technology solutions.
Commercial Business Partnering:
Serve as the IT business partner to the Singapore Commercial organization, ensuring that technology investments / initiatives directly support business strategy, commercial growth, and customer engagement.
IT Vision and Strategy:
Develop and execute the SG IT and digital roadmap fully aligned with the business needs, to enable business transformation and delivering tangible business outcomes.
Drive the IT & Digital vision and strategy and gain commitment at senior levels to the strategy and related initiatives.
Leadership of Small High-Impact Team:
Lead, coach, and develop a small, agile IT team with a focus on delivering high-value, business-driven digital capabilities.
Foster a collaborative, results-oriented culture with high accountability and empowerment.
Use the annual Pulse survey to analyze satisfaction and identify continuous improvement opportunities.
Stakeholder Engagement & Cross-Functional Collaboration:
Work closely with Commercial, Medical, Market Access, Regulatory, Finance, HR, Legal, and Compliance teams to deliver integrated solutions that address both business opportunities and regulatory obligations.
Ensure appropriate level of IT services and support are delivered to the Singapore business.
Innovation & Ecosystem Engagement:
Drive partnerships with digital health startups, local innovation hubs, and technology vendors to co-create solutions enhancing commercial effectiveness and patient engagement.
Look to create opportunities with external players such as innovation startups and innovation hubs.
Stay abreast of technology, data, and digital trends, communicating implications and opportunities to senior leaders.
Customer Experience & Omnichannel Engagement
Lead adoption, localization, design, and implementation of customer-centric digital engagement models for patients, HCPs, and payers using CRM, omnichannel platforms, and digital marketing technologies.
Superior Digital Marketing Enablement
Drive deployment, operations, and excellence in digital marketing including automation, analytics, personalized content delivery, campaign orchestration, and performance tracking to maximize commercial impact.
Program Management Office (PMO) Leadership
Manage complex cross-functional digital programs using best-in-class PMO governance, resource planning, milestone tracking, and benefit realization frameworks.
Implement performance measurement standards and techniques to ensure effective, timely, and quality initiatives that support business objectives.
Data Privacy, Compliance, Governance & Security
Ensure full adherence to global and local data privacy laws (e.g., PDPA, GDPR), compliance standards, cybersecurity protocols, and governance frameworks.
Work closely with Compliance teams to ensure audit-readiness and regulatory alignment.
Financial Management
Develop operating plans, negotiate, align and manage budgets, ensuring optimal resource utilization, financial governance, and strong vendor management.
Ensure governance and compliance standards are met and adhered to.
Change Management & Adoption
Lead organizational change to drive successful technology adoption, process improvements, and cultural transformation.
Technology Deployment & Operations
Own deployment and uptake of IT capabilities across data, analytics, CRM, field force effectiveness, AI, cloud solutions, and enterprise platforms that serve the Singapore Commercial business.
Alignment with Asia Area and International Region
Coordinate with Asia Area IT & Digital Service Leads to execute IT & Digital strategies at market level while ensuring market needs, requirements, and constraints are represented.
Actively contribute to shaping Asia Area IT & Digital Strategy while representing Singapore’s business needs.
Encourage cross-market collaboration within Asia Area to leverage best practices, scalability, and synergies.
Drive digital transformation across all markets in the cluster.
Collaborate with International Region stakeholders including Campus IT, Asia IT&D Service-Line Managers, Global Innovation & Technology Centres, and International functional leads.
Assess, prioritize, and effectively communicate Singapore business needs to regional teams, initiate projects, and oversee above-market project delivery into Singapore.
Essential for the role
15+ years of experience as an IT & Digital leader directly supporting Commercial organizations within the pharmaceutical, healthcare, or life sciences sector.
Strong experience managing small high-performance teams delivering business-aligned technology solutions.
Deep understanding of customer journeys, digital customer experience design, and omnichannel commercial engagement models.
Successful track record of delivering complex Digital Marketing and CRM solutions with measurable business impact.
Strong interpersonal, communication, consulting, and influencing skills to engage senior commercial and cross-functional leaders.
Demonstrated expertise in business change management, strategic planning, innovation, and digital business transformation.
Experience managing IT governance, compliance, data privacy, and security frameworks in highly regulated industries.
Solid financial management experience overseeing IT budgets and vendor relationships.
Proven ability to engage digital health startups, innovation partners, and the broader healthcare ecosystem.
Broad understanding of pharmaceutical commercial models, including field force enablement, sales representative effectiveness, and multichannel engagement.
Recognized participation in pharma industry thought leadership networks or organizations.
Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in IT, Computer Science, Business Administration, or related field. Advanced degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
